This 4D monitoring system is one of the many
applications within SRD’s flexible SVS3 family of products.
Seabed Clearance Monitoring (SCMS) is a swathe bathymetry system,
which can be utilised on a wide range of survey platforms. The
system utilises an orthogonal arrangement of two transducers each
containing separate transmit and receive elements. The system
can be readily configured to match particular project requirements.
SVS3, used in the 4D bathymetric mode, is a very powerful process
control and monitoring tool, making it ideally suited for real
time progress monitoring of wide area of seabed during remedial
activities.
A major benefit of the system derives from the unique beam steering
capability, enabling large areas of seabed to be monitored simultaneously
from a stationary platform. Drill cuttings removal, template levelling,
infill / rock dumping can all be monitored effectively with the
SCMS.
