The Pipe Lay Support (PLS) system is one of
the many applications within SRD's flexible SVS3 family of products.
SVS3 is based on the acquisition of high precision sonar data
from a customised sensor configuration, allowing simultaneous
real-time observation and tracking of multiple passive or active
targets.
Such features make the SVS concept ideally suited to pipe lay
support operations as has been demonstrated by its use in the
field on over 15 projects in water depths up to 2300m. The system
is depth rated to 4000m and can meet the requirements of the most
demanding pipe lay projects in ever deeper water.
