Established in 1981, SRD is an independent company providing specialised and innovative sonar services and products to a wide spectrum of customers whose common requirement is to visualise, monitor and measure particular aspects of the sub-sea environment.

SRD has amassed a wealth of experience and expertise in the field of acoustics and their use in a wide range of sub-sea applications including; bathymetric survey, seabed clearance, specialised dredging support, pipelay, pipeline inspection, wreck survey, positioning/tracking, and other customised applications where real time on-line project management and process control is required. The compact SVS3 hardware means that transducers can be deployed by various methods from small launches to semi-submersible drilling rigs.

Using the in-house developed Subsea Visualisation System (SVS), SRD has been providing specialist services to the offshore and allied industries since 1993. Today, using SRD’s latest high resolution digital technology Sonar, SVS3 is a fully integrated data acquisition, processing and visualisation package. With real-time process control the system offers substantial user benefits including lower project costs, on-line resolution of issues, 3D visualisation and volumetric analysis. With SRD’s flexible approach to customer requirements, the SVS3 system can be customised for the most demanding project requirements.

SRD have also been designing and manufacturing high quality transducers for over 25 years. Our product range suits most standard applications. If desired, bespoke transducer designs are available to meet individual requirements. All our transducers are covered by a three-year warranty and are designed for durability and reliable operation over an extended operating life.
